 Since its first running in 1991, Del Mar's signature race, The Pacific Classic, has made quite a splash. The track where the turf meets the surf has hosted California legends, a few champion three-year-olds, and one huge upset during the race's 21 years! Via TVG's Christina Olivares ... Assistant trainer Dan Ward says Blind Luck will not run in the Pacific Classic. She will instead wait for the Lady's Secret on Oct 1st.
One of my cherished moments, was taking Student Council(24-1) in the Pacific. He ran within a head of Brass Hat, who set the track record at Churchill, and was totally dismissed in the Pacific. What a lovely memory!!!
