Older Comments about Orb Draws Rail in Preakness 2013...

In this case this is not like the Ky. Dby. so therefore IMO post 1 is not a big deal, if the horse is good enough he will win, especially at 1 3/16th. Orb is coming into the Preakness like no other Derby winner has since Affirmed and Sat. will tell the story. I wish him and the connections well and may everyone in the race have a safe trip.
horses have no idea that they are racing and also have no idea where any of the 1/16th poles are......their entire modus operandi for running is controlled fight of flight response.
A case can also be made as to why the start keeping the records of the riders. Maybe someone down the road figure out that it take two to tango. Or some genius figure out that horses don't know where the finish line is and they required a jockey to give the go signal and put them in a position to win the race?
no problems
You know up until late in the 1800's there were few records kept of the riders...I can see why
The mantle of greatness is FAR from being bestowed on this or any other colt yet or you have a whimpy definition of that word.
Orb is the most likely winner. However ,Johnny V. given the mount on It's My Lucky Day,has to be given serious consideration.IMHO
Great horses do great things--I am convinced he is great...
