Oaklawn: Closing Thoughts

Dryfly won the first prep on the road to the Grade 1, $1 million Arkansas Derby, the $100,000 Smarty Jones, and looked good doing it. He moved to the lead soon after the start of the one-mile race and maintained his advantage throughout for a two and a quarter length win. And, the score came on a good track that proved kinder to off-the-pace runners. Calvin Borel was aboard for trainer Lynn Whiting.
