Churchill
Downs Racetrack is
introducing a new Section 110 seating and hospitality venue for the 2013
Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands and the Kentucky Oaks
that offers the historic track’s first stadium-type seating, hospitality
highlighted by limitless food and drink and a first-turn Clubhouse location
that provides the track’s most breathtaking view of its iconic Twin Spires.
Kentucky Derby
and Oaks fans who have registered online at www.churchilldowns/tickets
for the opportunity to purchase tickets to the 2013 renewals of those events at
Churchill Downs will be contacted via e-mail the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 14
with details of the online offering of more than 3,000 first turn trackside
seats in Section 110.
The 139th running of the Kentucky Oaks, America’s
top race for 3-year-old fillies, is scheduled on Friday, May 3, 2013. The
Kentucky Derby, America’s greatest race, will be run Saturday, May 4, 2013.
Section 110 is
located in an area of the first turn, traditionally referred to as the
“Clubhouse turn,” that had in recent years been home to the Trackside
Village, a two-story hospitality tent constructed specifically for Kentucky
Derby and Kentucky Oaks Week entertainment.
The
seats available in Section 110 are Churchill Downs’ first “tip-up” stadium
seats, complete with cup-holder. About one-third of 30 ascending rows of seats
will be under cover, with easy access from all Section 110 seats to a food and
drink concourse and an ample supply of betting windows and restrooms located on
its ground floor.
Pricing
for the two-day ticket package for Kentucky Derby and Oaks will range from $698
for uncovered seats to $799 for seats located under cover.
The
new seating and hospitality venue in Section 110 replaces the Infield Club, a
Kentucky Derby and Oaks hospitality venue that had been located in the infield
over the past three years. The Section 110 hospitality options are
significantly enhanced as seats and the view of the track are located in the
Clubhouse on the famous first turn, and food and beverage options now include
alcohol and in-seat service.
