Name These Rivals! replaces Who Am I ???

The Who Am I ??? era is over. As announced last night after the contest, I have retired racing’s favorite trivia game. After nearly four years, and almost 200 puzzles, I have decided it was time to move on. While I realize there were many loyal players, as well as, a steady influx of new ones, I did not wish for it to become stale, either on my end or yours. Thank you for all the notes of appreciation I have received since announcing the end had come. The enjoyment for fans of thoroughbred racing in playing Who Am I ??? over the years is exactly why I created it and continued on with it for this long.

Enough with the bad news, now on to the good news … In a desire to continue the proud tradition of having fun, testing your racing knowledge, and putting your skill in solving these puzzles on the line against an eclectic group of racing fans, I am happy to announce that a new game called, Name These Rivals! will pick up right where Who Am I ??? left off.

The rules for the new game will be the same as the old. I will post a series of clues designed to lead you to the winning answer. This time, the answer will need to be a pair of horses rather than just one. The first one to correctly answer the winning pair will be the weekly champion of Name These Rivals! The winning answer will always be two horses, considered rivals, and that raced against each other at least once. In most cases they will have faced each other multiple times, such as Affirmed and Alydar. Just as it was for Who Am I ???, do not expect the winning answer to come too easily, as always, my sleeves are filled with tricks.

So, while one game goes quietly into the night, a new, fresh and exciting one will be ready to keep the competition and excitement going. Same time: Wednesday at 9pm Eastern and 6pm Pacific. Same place: On the pages of Horse Racing Nation and Zipse at the Track. Everyone’s invited, and my sincere hope is that Name These Rivals! brings all the entertainment that Who Am I ??? did. Thank you in advance for playing!
