Name These Rivals!

Name These Rivals

Rival Clue #1 - Neither of us were bred in Kentucky, as a matter of fact; only one of us was bred in the United States.

Rival Clue #2- Both rivals have stakes races named after them, but on opposite coasts.

Rival Clue #3- Our first meeting took placing at Belmont going 12 furlongs; one rival did well, the other did not.

Rival Clue #4 - One rival was a champion more than once, the other rival only became a champion after the retirement of the first.

Rival Clue #5 - Both rivals lost their career debuts in races shorter than six furlongs, but combined, were victorious in more than 40 races.

Rival Clue #6 - Our closest finish came in our final meeting when we were only separated by a neck after 1 ½ miles.

Do you know who we are yet?

Rival Clue #7 - Our rivalry spanned only three races, but it lasted two seasons, from October to June.

Rival Clue #8 - Both of our primary trainers have since passed, but not before induction into the Hall of Fame.

Rival Clue #9 - Our racing careers spanned one of the eras in racing recognized as a golden age.

Rival Clue #10 - Our respective records in the rivalry were 3-2-0-0 and 3-1-1-0, but would have been better if not for a disqualification.

Rival Clue #11 -  Both rivals now have their place in the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.

Rival Clue #12 - Born two years apart, our racing careers also ended two years apart.

Go ahead … Name us both!

Congrats Chris ;)
Four or five in a row. I had a couple before the streak stated, but missed a few weeks here and there. I set a reminder on my phone now.
Since Victory Gallop, Real Quiet??????
How many in a row is that for you, champ?
Name These Rivals -- Chris Miskell and AndyScoggin --LOL, except it's very lopsided.
Golden Age meant the '70s were in play. The multiple champioships narrowed it down since I knew it wasn't a Triple Crown winner. Then I ran through who had races named and came up with those two.
That was not easy. Well done, Chris!
I spent too much time thinking about the Belmont Stakes!
Congrats Chris, I'm nipping at your heels. I posted and I refreshed and saw you had already gotten it.
Andy, I think I must type faster than you..
I gotta ask, Chris ... How did you get this one?
Fort Marcy and Cougar II
Chris, you did it again. From now on this game will be called the Chris Miskell!
