The New York
Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) and the Ram Truck Brand will give new meaning
to horsepower in a multifaceted Belmont Stakes partnership announced Thursday.
The new sponsorship will enable the Ram Truck Brand to integrate vehicle
displays onsite as well as sponsor the Grade 3, $100,000 Hill Prince Stakes.
In the week leading up to the Grade 1, $1 million Belmont
Stakes on June 5, a multitude of Ram Trucks will be prominently featured
throughout Belmont
Park, including locations
in front of the Belmont Café and near the Clubhouse entrance. Ram Truck
brand representatives will be on-hand to answer questions as well as providing
information about the “Letters for Lyrics” national campaign.
The Ram Truck Brand and Zac Brown Band partnered for
“Letters for Lyrics,” a national letter-writing campaign aimed at U.S.
soldiers deployed around the world. Together, they want to send one million
letters of appreciation to U.S.
soldiers and they will not stop until they reach that goal.
Visitors to Belmont
Park will be able to write a letter to
U.S. soldiers and in
exchange for writing a letter, they will receive a special compilation CD
titled, “Breaking Southern Ground.” This
exclusive CD features three all-new songs from Zac Brown Band, as well as music
from artists signed to Zac Brown’s label, Southern Ground Artists – Sonia
Leigh, Nic Cowan and Levi Lowrey.
The Ram Truck Brand also will sponsor the Grade 3, $100,000
Hill Prince Stakes on Friday, June 4, a one-mile turf race for 3-year-old
horses.
“This partnership enables the Ram Truck Brand to connect
directly with current and potential customers,” said Phil Scroggin, Director of
the Northeast Business Center.
“We are pleased to be able to bring ‘Letters for Lyrics’ to Belmont Park.
We hope that race fans will take a moment to write a letter of appreciation to
the men and women in the military.”
