Week three of the Run to the Roses contest is upon us and I don’t know about you, but I have a very big
decision to make with my stable.
The first week I ended
amongst the leaders with 83 points.
El Padrino was assigned as a power horse and he won the (G2) Risen Star
earning 24 points (12 points for a grade two stake multiplied by two for the
power horse). Then Union Rags romped in the (G2) Fountain of Youth as another of my power horse and he also
got 24 points. Discreet Dancer’s
third place was worth three points. Then, I had Michael Matz, Todd Pletcher,
Julien Leparoux, and Javier Castellano for 32 more points.
In week two the only
eligible graded race for the Run to the Roses was the (G3) Gotham and my
stable did not have a runner. It was a big mistake to leave Hansen out of my
stable. I assume he will be part of my supplemental draft.
Week three has the (G2)
Tampa Derby, the (G3) Swale, and the (G2) San Felipe. This gives my stable four runners. Creative Cause, Empire Way, and Bodemeister are entered in the San Felipe. Ever So Lucky goes in the Swale. Here lies the big
decision. Which three members of
the AndyScoggin Stable do I assign as power horses? Should I assign all three in the San Felipe and have three
shots at the 24 points for a win or make Ever So Lucky a power horse and try
and get two winners? If I go with Ever So Lucky, which two horses do I use in the San Felipe?
I seek the help of the
Horse Racing Nation to decide on my Run to the Roses stable. Also, please feel free to share how your
stable is doing in this fantasy contest.
