My Run to the Roses Stable Needs Your Help!

Week three of the Run to the Roses contest is upon us and I don’t know about you, but I have a very big decision to make with my stable.

The first week I ended amongst the leaders with 83 points.  El Padrino was assigned as a power horse and he won the (G2) Risen Star earning 24 points (12 points for a grade two stake multiplied by two for the power horse).  Then Union Rags romped in the (G2) Fountain of Youth as another of my power horse and he also got 24 points.  Discreet Dancer’s third place was worth three points. Then, I had Michael Matz, Todd Pletcher, Julien Leparoux, and Javier Castellano for 32 more points.

In week two the only eligible graded race for the Run to the Roses was the (G3) Gotham and my stable did not have a runner. It was a big mistake to leave Hansen out of my stable. I assume he will be part of my supplemental draft.

Week three has the (G2) Tampa Derby, the (G3) Swale, and the (G2) San Felipe.  This gives my stable four runners. Creative Cause, Empire Way, and Bodemeister are entered in the San Felipe.  Ever So Lucky goes in the Swale. Here lies the big decision.  Which three members of the AndyScoggin Stable do I assign as power horses?  Should I assign all three in the San Felipe and have three shots at the 24 points for a win or make Ever So Lucky a power horse and try and get two winners?  If I go with Ever So Lucky, which two horses do I use in the San Felipe?

I seek the help of the Horse Racing Nation to decide on my Run to the Roses stable.  Also, please feel free to share how your stable is doing in this fantasy contest.

Irish flower is mine stable name... I did alright this weekend thanks to Creative Cause and Bodemeister :D but the next weekend Rebel Stakes is going to Kick my butt! There are a few nominations DRF named earlier last week but since Gemologist is out, Im screwed lol ...I regret putting Saber Cat and/or Castaway =/
My stable aJampers is on fire!
Thanks everyone--CC and Bodemeister ran one, two as my power horses and Ever So Lucky got third in the Swale.
The Bid--Good luck in RttR. Be sure to check my blog at the beginning of the week. There will be an article that THE BID should like!
I would leave your power horses just the way you have them, I just joined HRN RTTR leaugue and landed in 2nd place, I plan on being first tomorrow.........
One thing I know for sure with this game is I am excellent at picking horses that will soon be injured and off the trail ... Good luck, Matt!
Andy, I'd kick out Empire Way. Go back and look at his last race. He had a dream trip on the rail the entire way & just kind of clunked along. I think CC & Bodemeister are better than he & so does Rosario, as he picked to ride CC over Empire Way.
I'm in the same boat as Scroggins with my power horses decision for this Saturday. I have a whole lot of them in three different barns and I do not know which ones to power up. That's why the Roses game is so much FUN!
bodemeister did not run with any class horses when he won this time he will be stepping so far up in class that its not funny
ajump08 -- Thanks for the advice and I will definitely join the HRN league. Great idea.
and i'd stick with the power horses you've got in place right now. No way Bodemeister will duplicate his maiden win, especially against such stout company,
ROAD TO THE ROSES! Made an HRN League. League Number - 882193636 Act Code - 2913889727
Ever So Lucky, Empire Way, and Creative Cause
Creative Cause & Bodemeister. If Empire Way gets there, you'll still get the non-power points and a good chance not many people will know much about him.
