Musical Romance rewarded with Eclipse Award

Florida-bred Musical Romance won the Eclipse for top female sprinter. The 4-year-old daughter of Ocala Stud stallion Concorde's Tune earned her spot as top female sprinter by winning the $1 million Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint in November 2011 at Churchill Downs.

It was the first horse bred by Ocala Stud to win an Eclipse.

The farm, established in the 1950s, is known for selling all its horses as 2-year-olds at public auction. The farm does not race its horses and does not sell yearlings or weanlings.

Musical Romance sold for $22,000 at the 2009 Ocala Breeders' Sales spring 2-year-old sale.
