Trainers are used to getting bills, but the Morey family produces them almost as fast.
Bill Morey, Jr., 72, has been a fixture in Northern California for
decades and also has had ample success in this section of the state.
When his son, William E. Morey, 38, followed in his footsteps, many
couldn’t figure out who was the father and who was the son.
William Morey Jr., known at Bill, is the son of William J. Morey.
When Bill’s son was about to be born, an interesting conversation took
place in the car en route to the hospital.
“First of all, we both thought it was going to be a girl. Then I
asked (my wife), ‘What if it’s a boy?’ I wanted to name him George, but
my wife wanted to stick with Bill. We compromised and named him
William E. Morey. The E is for Edward, in honor of one of my lifelong
friends, Ted West (whose given name is Edward Kenneth).” William E.
Morey goes by the nickname Billy.
So, though it’s unusual, the father’s name is William Morey, Jr. and the son’s name is William E. Morey.
If that isn’t confusing enough, one of Bill Morey’s long time clients is named Joe Morey…..no relation.
