Bobby Flay’s More Than Real,
who defeated Winter Memories in last year’s Grade 2 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile
Filly Turf, on Thursday breezed four furlongs in 51.06 in her first workout
since her 11th-place finish in the Group 1 Coronation at Royal Ascot
on June 17.
“It was nice and easy,” said
Jonathan Thomas, assistant to trainer Todd Pletcher. “It was exactly what we
were looking for.”
More Than Real is under
consideration for the Saratoga’s Grade 2 Lake George on July 27, which is
expected to attract Winter Memories.
“With the way [Winter Memories] has
been running, it could be a nice rivalry,” said Thomas.
