Marchfield to Stand at Park Stud

Eugene Melnyk's homebred Marchfield, a two-time Canadian champion, will stand the 2011 breeding season at Michael Byrne's Park Stud near Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. The 6-year-old son of A.P. Indy will stand for $4,000.

Marchfield was a stakes performer in each of his four years of racing. At 2, he was second in the Coronation Futurity in his second start. As a 3-year-old, he won the third leg of the Canadian Triple Crown, the Breeders’ Stakes on turf. In his championship seasons, he won the Autumn Stakes (Can-IIT) at 4 and the Sky Classic Stakes (Can-IIT) over subsequent Canadian Horse of the Year Champs Elysees and the Dominion Day Handicap (Can-III) at 5.
