Majestic City Works for Del Mar Futurity

July 17, 2011: Majestic City and David Flores win the Hollywood Juvenile Championship Stakes at Hollywood Park, Inglewood, CA .

Hollywood Juvenile winner Majestic City worked six furlongs in a bullet 1:12.00 Friday morning under jockey David Flores for trainer Peter Miller.

Miller said the effort was solid and exactly what he was looking for as preparation for the Grade I, $250,000, 7-furlong Del Mar Futurity on September 7.

“I got him a little faster (1:11 3/5) than they did and had him galloping out in 1:25 2/5,” Miller said.

Majestic City, a City Zip colt owned by Carlsbad resident Jeff Bloom, worked in company with Hurry Home Clover,  spotting the stablemate five lengths and finishing slightly ahead. Hurry Home Clover was timed in 1:12.80.

Miller said one more serious work will be planned before the Futurity, either next Thursday or Friday.
