MSG Plus will present a telecast from Belmont Park
this Saturday that will include the live running of the Grade 1, $250,000
Garden City for 3-year-old fillies on the turf. Coverage will run from 5
– 5:30 p.m. EDT.
In the Garden City, Winter Memories, a four-time graded stakes winner,
will look to make amends after finishing fourth in the Woodford Reserve Lake Placid,
won by Garden City entrant Hungry
Island. The Garden City
field also includes Woodford Reserve Lake Placid runner-up Kathmanblu, TVG Alabama
third-place finisher Pinch Pie, European invader Theyskens’ Theory, and
More Than Real, who defeated Winter Memories in last year’s
Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies turf.
The telecast, a partnership with The New York Racing Association, Inc.
(NYRA), will feature NYRA personalities Jason Blewitt,
Eric Donovan, Richard Migliore, Andy
Serling, and Maggie Wolfendale. Al Bernstein will produce the show, which will
be directed by Mitch Levites.
In addition to televising live racing action, MSG Plus currently
telecasts “Belmont Park/Aqueduct/Saratoga in 30,” a daily half-hour
race-replay show and “Thoroughbred Weekly,” a weekly half-hour show
including timely features and races of the week. On October 8, MSG Plus will
broadcast the Jamaica,
Frizette, and Champagne, a trio of Grade 1
races from Belmont
Park.
