The coupled entry of Mark Valeski and Mr. Bowling, trained by Larry Jones and owned by Brereton Jones, are the morning line favorites at 2-1 in Sunday's G2 Louisiana Derby.

The full field of 14 was announced at the post position draw event Monday morning at the Fair Grounds in New Orleans. The two will break side-by-side from posts 8 and 9.

Also entered is Jerry Hollendorfer's California invader Rousing Sermon, at 6-1 on the morning line. Rousing Sermon drew post 12.

thanks for the update mdracing69.
Casner Racing’s Arm Force has elected not to travel to New Orleans for Sunday’s Louisiana Derby, according to Fair Grounds Racing Secretary Jason Boulet. Trainer Eoin Harty told Racing Office staff he is considering other, presumable softer, races for the Tiznow colt.
Speaking of recent maiden winners..like Arm Forces in this race.
@Rosie_Napravnik on the #LADerby: "The race looks wide open. Some of the tougest horses are coming out of maiden races
Kedez2012: Mike Smith needs 3 more for 5000 wins..not 100% sure you can ,check it up..
Proud Citizen is having a nice year so far.
I am going with Cigar Street. And i think Harty 's horse will be a factor.
Another like for Mark Valeski. Also very nice to see Ron Faucheux entering a horse. Watching him.
I was a huge fan of Street Sense back in the day, so I have to at least root for his two boys in this one--Cigar Street and Afford. Too bad Castaway got caught up in that suicidal speed duel in the Sunland Derby, but he still has Street Life for the Wood Memorial, too! :)
Watch Rousing Sermon too! We all know how well Mike Smith does in big races like this when he jumps on new horses, especially closers (Drosselmeyer, anyone?)
I like Mark Valeski, they were really happy how the horse can rate..up and down..Longshots Windsurfer has been on fire with the work-outs,Cigar Street as well, and Arm Force..Well it should be a heck of a race..
Apparently both Margolis and Ballis were very happy with Cigar Street's last work. I'll be pulling for him!
