Longacres Mile Attracts Twelve

Emerald Downs
Chris Randall and Nick Rossi's Gallant Son heads a field of 12 older handicap stars entered in the $250,000 Longacres Mile (GIII) at Emerald Downs on Sunday, Aug. 22.

Gallant Son drew the No. 8 post-position and will be ridden by Leslie Mawing at high weight of 121 lbs. for trainer Frank Lucarelli in the 75th renewal of the Northwest's most prestigious race.

Local star Noosa Beach—owned by Jeff Harwood, trained by Doris Harwood and ridden by Ricky Frazier at 120 lbs—drew the No. 5 post and is the 3-1 second choice on the morning line.
