Kentucky Derby 2014 Future Odds - 12-04-2013

Honor Code, fresh off a nose victory in the Remsen, is the 10-1 favorite in the latest Kentucky Derby 2014 Future Odds from Wynn Las Vegas.

The two-year-old colt from A.P. Indy's final crop has turned heads since his debut at Saratoga for Lane's End farm and trainer Shug McGaughey.

Cairo Prince, second in the Remsen, is at 20-1 for owners Paul Braverman, Harvey Clarke and Namcook Stable.

Tapiture, a maiden out of Steve Asmussen's barn before winning the Kentucky Jockey Club stakes at Churchill last Saturday, dropped to 22-1.

Havana, early favorite for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, now sits at 30-1, while BC Juvenile winner New Year's Day is at 22-1.

With the major 2-year-old Derby points races complete, the only remaining Grade 1 for juveniles is the Cashcall Futurity, which marks its final edition on Dec. 14. These future odds most likely won't change much until January, when the newly-minted three-year-olds begin their quest for roses with the Jerome and Sham stakes on Jan. 4. The Kentucky Derby's 140th running is May 3.

Forks and shock were compressed more from the weight of the mud than they did with my 205 lbs on it.
Mud is for the twenty-somethings. One time I raced in Abilene, Texas in the mud. So much mud caked to my bike that it weighed approx 450 lbs when over. It weighed 229 without the mud.
What!!!!!! you are not a MUDDER. Maybe you need an equipment change to mud caulks.
Been rained-out last two times I could go. Will try this weekend, but am afraid the track may be underwater from rain forcasted for Thursday-Friday.
How is the riding going? Do you stop for the winter?
Will do tom.
Keep an eye on this guy,Also keep an eye on Byrnes other 3yos' next year. But like i told Goblin on the other thread.I have seen 3 working at Belmont in the Mornings,i thought they were 3 yos'. When Lisa analyzed the paper. One wonders, where do they come from. Some are absolutely scary.
You made a believer out of me tom, no doubt.
Jay,believe me.As of now who have run.He is the best one out there. Nothing i saw this past weekend changed my mind. You are right, just like Slew had,he has that cruising speed. This guy has not been tapped into at all. What Lisa tells me about his bloodlines in the Dams side and going back to the deep generations is scary. She did a work up on him that blew my mind. I love this guy.
tom, I finally saw Almost Famous on tv. He's got that big Seattle Slew/Swale build. He looks like the real deal to me.
Excellent points below. For reference, Orb was 125-1, Golden Soul was 225-1, and Revolutionary was 75-1. So you do like Honor Code that much?
Buds,if they gave me 30-1 on this guy i would not take him. They are trying to play up the gameness angle. They went 25/53/1.18 on a fast track. I would not bet any of these guys coming back. Are you kidding me.They go faster at the Meadowlands in the Harness races. My friends are trying to sell me that they came home in .36. Who cares. They walked around the track and all horses were all out. If you told me before the race that Honor Code would be on the lead going 1.18. I would of said ,did he win by 10. Makes me feel so much better about Noble Moon and Almost Famous.Even Pablo.Because if this is the barometer. Not to high to reach.
Rule #1 in futures bets:dont bet future horses under 30-1.
