The 10-1 Kentucky Derby 2014 Future Odds favorite didn't even win his race Saturday but still impressed bettors at Wynn Las Vegas. Honor Code, runner-up in the Champagne to winner Havana, may not go to the Breeders' Cup but most think his outlook is a greater prize: roses on the first Saturday in May!
Trainer Shug McGaughey, fresh off a 2013 Derby win by Orb, may have another classic contender in Honor Code, a son of A.P. Indy from that legendary stallion's final crop of foals to race. McGaughey is said to be considering a Remsen run instead of contesting the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, though nothing official has been announced.
Champagne winner, Havana, is at 30-1 for the Kentucky Derby for trainer Todd Pletcher and Coolmore.
Ride On Curlin, third in the Champagne, is also at 30-1.
Dixiana Breeders' Futurity winner We Miss Artie is new to the list and opens at 100-1.
