Today's Derby contender works featured a four furlong work from G3 Southwest Stakes hopeful Super Ninety Nine. The Bob Baffert runner smarty won an allowance route at Santa Anita on 1-31.

#263 Code West - 4f in :48 (6/34) at Santa Anita.

Notes:

Pletcher's undefeated colt Verrazano will make his next start in the G2 Tampa Bay Derby on March 9. Trainer Shug McGaughey is considering the G2 Fountain of Youth for his promising colt Orb.
