Kentucky Derby 2012 Workout Report March 21 - I'll Have Another works

February 04, 2011. I'll Have Another and Mario Gutierrez win the Robert B. Lewis Stakes(GII) at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA.

Today's Derby contender works featured a seven furlong move from G1 Santa Anita Derby hopeful I'll Have Another. The Doug O'Neill trainee surprisingly captured the G2 Robert Lewis Stakes on Feb 4. Castaway worked for the upcoming G3 Sunland Derby for trainer Bob Baffert.

#9 Castaway - 4f in :50.00 (29/36) at Santa Anita Park.

#11 I'll Have Another - 7f in 1:26.20 (1/1) at Hollywood Park.

Other March 21 Works:


Stakes placed maiden Brother Francis traveled 6f in 1:12 (5/17) at Santa Anita Park on Wednesday. He is targeting the G1 SA Derby. G2 San Vicente hero Drill worked 6f in 1:13 (8/17) at Santa Anita. The G1 Blue Grass is reportedly next. Fleet CA-bred colt Three Vases zipped 5f in :59.60 (3/34) at Santa Anita. Comebacker Right To Vote breezed 4f in :51.03 (18/19) at Palm Meadows. He landed the show in the G1 Champagne Stakes last fall.  




Castaway headlines a field of eight for Sunday's Grade 3 Sunland Derby. G3 El Camino Real Derby winner Daddy Nose Best will also take part in the graded New Mexico Kentucky Derby prep.
