Today's Derby contender works featured a five furlong move from Rousing Sermon. The Jerry Hollendorfer trainee was 3rd in the G2 Robert Lewis and 2nd in the G1 CashCall Futurity. G2 Risen Star entrant Optimizer blew out three furlongs on Tuesday for Wayne Lukas.

#16 Rousing Sermon - 5f in 1:01.80 (5/8) at Hollywood Park.
#23 Ever So Lucky -
5f in 1:00.65 (7/11) at Gulfstream Park.

Trinniberg, 7th when last seen in the BC Juvenile Sprint, fired a 4f bullet in :48 (1/19) at Calder on Tuesday. Lord Tarzan breezed 5f in 1:03.72 (7/17) at Palm Meadows (turf) for Graham Motion.    


Notes:

 

Trainer Bob Baffert swept both divisions of the Southwest on Monday. Castaway got a 92 BSF for his sharp win, and Secret Circle garnered a 102 BSF for his determined tally in the second division.
