Ken McPeek Makes New Orleans Plans

Graded stakes winner Rogue Romance, who hasn’t raced since finishing third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, will be shipping from Gulfstream Park to the Fair Grounds to run in the Risen Star on Feb. 19, trainer Ken McPeek said Saturday from Florida.


The Risen Star is the final stakes prep for the Louisiana Derby.


McPeek said he’ll also be sending graded-stakes-winning filly Kathmanblu from Gulfstream to run that day in the Rachel Alexandra, the final stakes prep for the Fair Grounds Oaks.


Rogue Romance, who has won two of four starts, scored a Grade III victory in the Bourbon Stakes last year on turf at Keeneland.
