Kathmanblu tuned up for her engagement
in the August 21 Grade 2 Woodford Reserve Lake Placid with a 1:03.88
five-furlong breeze on the Oklahoma training track Saturday morning.
“It was just a regular
maintenance work, and everything is good,” said Lars Becdelamotte, assistant to
trainer Ken McPeek. “She’s on track to make the race.”
Owned by Five D Thoroughbreds and
Wind River Stables, Kathmanblu has won four stakes, including the Jessamine and
Sweetest Chant on the turf. She was fourth in the Grade 3 Regret on turf at
Churchill Downs on June 18 in her most recent start and is expected to face
four-time graded stakes winner Winter
Memories in the Woodford Reserve Lake Placid.
