Racing Hall of Fame trainer Jonathan Sheppard hoped Just as Well would
secure his first Grade 1 win on Sunday in the Northern Dancer Stakes
Presented by VTech (Can-G1), but the victory did not come as Sheppard
expected.
Marsh Side crossed the finish line first followed by Just as Well, but
Marsh Side was disqualified and placed fourth for interfering with
Quijano (Ger) and Champs Elysees (GB) in the stretch. The
disqualification elevated Just as Well to first, Quijano to second, and
Champs Elysees to third.
