Joyful Victory, Rigoletta Head Honeybee Cast

Rigoletta defeats Tell A Kelly in the Grade 1 Oak Leaf Stakes
An interesting field of nine will go to post in Saturday's Honeybee (G3) at Oaklawn Park and Larry Jones might have the one to beat in Joyful Victory.

The Fox Hill Farm filly made three starts for Tony Dutrow last year. She broke her maiden from post twelve in her career debut over a route of ground at Delaware Park last September and was subsequently thrown to the wolves in Belmont's Frizette (G1). She was hardly digraced in a show finish behind A Z Warrior and R Heat Lightning in the Frizette and capped off her juvenile campaign with a 5th place effort in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.

Larry Jones takes over the reigns in 2011 and the Ontario-bred daughter of Tapit uncorked a strong local five fulong bullet for this on March 7.

Jones also trains sharp local allowance winner Summer Soiree. The place finisher from her last (Hearts On Fire) came back to win and is also entered in this spot.

Rigoletta won the Oak Leaf (G1) at Hollywood Park last year and went to the sidelines with a split injury following that victory. She returned with a respectable 5th place effort in the grassy La Habra (G3) and tries conventional dirt for the first time. She has been training forwardly at Santa Anita and gets pace to chase.

Dixie City ended her two-year-old season with a wire-to-wire score in the nine furlong Demoiselle (G2) at Aqueduct. Tony Dutrow's returning daughter of Dixie Union figures to revert to patient tactics and can make a dent if she is ready to roll off a three month vacation.

Holy Heavens packs a decent late kick and exits a nice win in the Martha Washington here. Benard Chatters is enjoying a fine meet and she will be making the last run.

Martha Washington show finisher Jazzin' Okie comes from the same barn (Von Hemel) as the aforementioned Hearts On Fire and she projects a tactical trip under Cliff Berry.

Salty Strike is a fleet Florida invader for Ken McPeek. She stretches out in distance and figures to make her presence felt throughout from the inside under Calvin Borel.

Norma's Dream completes the field. The recent Oaklawn Park maiden route winner adds fuel to the pace fire but is probably up against it from a class standpoint.

The Honeybee goes as the 7th race at Oaklawn Park on March 12 as serves a stepping stone to the April 10 Fantasy Stakes (G2).

Joyful Victory sure was impressive. I agree that she is a major Ky Oaks threat.
Joyful Victory my Kentucky Oaks Fav. Just demolished that field @ Oaklawn. Watch out Larry Jones is back and WOW.
