Jockey Lyndie Wade fractured multiple vertebrae in his neck on Friday after being thrown to the ground in the fifth race at Hawthorne Race Course.
Wade’s mount, Millennium Park, broke down approaching the quarter pole in the six-furlong maiden special weight race, unseating Wade. Millennium Park, a gray or roan Ecton Park filly who finished in the top three in each of her first three career starts for trainer Brian Williamson, subsequently was euthanized.
