Jockey Tyler Baze, who has been off his mounts since Friday,
failed a breathalyzer test and won't be allowed to ride again until
meeting with track stewards Wednesday morning, steward Scott Chaney
told the Daily Racing Form on Sunday.
Del Mar doesn't race on Monday or Tuesday.
Steward Tom Ward said in a statement on Monday obtained from the

office around 3 p.m. Friday to review his ride in a race on
Thursday.
"Once Tyler left the office, we all agreed there was something
not right, that he did not seem his normal self," Ward said. "At
that point, we summoned a CHRB investigator, who went to the
jockeys' room and evaluated Baze. And following that evaluation, we
sent Baze to first aid to be evaluated by the track physician.
Following the evaluation by Dr. (John) Augustino, he informed us
that in his opinion, Tyler was not fit to ride.
