Iotapa Opens Up in Vanity

Iotapa wins 2014 Santa Maria
In Saturday's Vanity at Santa Anita Park, Iotapa wired the field from the inside post under Joe Talamo. She covered 1 1/8 miles in 1:47.64 and paid $11.20, $5 and $3.20.  The winning margin of 10 ¼ lengths is believed to be a stakes record, according to Equibase.

"We had a perfect trip," Talamo said. "The fractions weren't too fast for her so she was able to gain a breather at one point and it was amazing the way she kicked away like she did."

Grace Hall returned $3.80 and $2.80 for Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott, while Scherzinger paid $3.40 to show.

Let Faith Arise, the 8-5 favorite and a double stakes winner this year, was fourth, followed by Magic Union and Yahilwa.

She was very good yesterday.
Same expression. Keep this girl happy, and probably running locally this summer, for the BCLC. Nice!
