D. Wayne Lukas said he’s having difficulty sleeping these days. A
certain big chestnut keeps running noisily through the Hall of Fame
trainer’s thoughts, and he’s running in a roseate direction.
Sleep,
it’s true, never has been a priority with this guy. Not even the
earliest birds would get any worms if Lukas were interested in them. He
has always been first to arrive, his cowboy boots hitting the shedrow
long before 5 o’clock. Still, having Dublin in his barn at Oaklawn
Park, Lukas said, makes rolling out of bed even easier these days.
