What the Nation is saying about Ill. Racing Board Approves Online Wagering...

Funny how governments make money off of booze and will readily sell ANYONE an epensive lotter ticket, but wagering on horses? HOW IMMORAL!!!
Recently in Pennsylvania, several banks would not honor ATM (this is YOUR own money and not loaned money) if the charge came from a race track......Trying to moralize yet they would not block liquor sales!
The wagering today is downright amazing with the FINALITY that the consumer can choose his/her product and no longer are force fed only the local output...I can recall many times when I would want to bet on, say the Hollywood Gold Cup, but was only offered an 8000 maiden claimer.
TV!! I'm only a couple of years into my quest for knowledge, remember? Also, 2013 is the year I listen to me. Another thing is that I did say the list above was that of my favorite tracks/types of races, not the only ones, though. 2014 could be another svengali year. Let's see how badly I scru this one up.
that should have been 3 year olds not 2 yr olds
Tv you have a good point there that people including myself sometimes forget. Like you already said basically is you can make just as much or more meoney betting on "cheaper horses and some people are obsessed over betting on stakes races well just because it's a stakes race. I have found out by my experiences to try to avoid the hyped up racing days that are staked loaded and bet very little on those days because they are almost always losing days. I understand loving to watch good horses especially those 2 yr olds this time of year that are on the Kentucky Derby trail just to see how they look during a race.
MARY!! the $$$$$$ to be made is all in the cheap racing, not stakes contests.
Good luck with your wagering and thanks for the help and your time.
I liked Aqueduct much more last winter when Calibrachoa was running. I'mgoing over the many stakes races for this weekend, gelded1, so I'll check back.
Santa Anita and Hollywood Park , also Probably Florida turf races, TC race cards, Super Saturday at Belmont; graded stakes races, mostly. Those are just my favorites. I liked the Keeneland fall meet first couple of weekends.
What are your favorite tracks to wager on ? Santa Anita and the California tracks?
I'll stay on this thread .I keep posting in 2 different ones playing musical threads. lol
Okay. I very rarely bet on the Turf Paradise races, but I'll check his race out.
Keep an eye on a gelding running in the 4th race on Sat. named AZ Ridge.
Should be there.instead of their.
I just went their that 1 time when I was on vacation there visiting my son in school.
Yes.
Do you go to Turf Paradise?
I feel your pain. Enjoy everyone's last minute picks of great looking horses in the paddock, or not cancelling your wager on your fully lathered up fav.
I'm an Illinois resident and was very excited and happy when online wagering was allowed a few years ago after the state rejecting it for many years.I've wagered a lot of money over the years that I have been a Twinspires customerin Illinois. Don't get me wrong ,I still go to the tracks here in Illinois and other states but an online account is so handy when you work and cannot make it to the track or OTB to make a wager on a horse you have been waiting to wager on for awhile .Just within the last 2 weeks the sate failed to renew or come to an agreement with the wagering services that offer our residents online wagering . I went to make a wager one day and it said not able to wager by internet or phone on every track listed that was running that day. I called Twinspires a few days later to see what the problem was and she said it was tied up with the legislators in the State of Illinois. This really dumbfounds me that Illinois which is financially in the shitter wouldbe stupid enough to lose out on all the revenue that it generates by allowing online wagering to happen here. Another stupid move by a State that is becoming one of the top messed up statesin this country. Hell our last 2 governers are in Prison making license plates. I guess that should tell everone something there. This just pisses me off to no end.
