Horse Racing Nation picks the 2012 Kentucky Derby

In a fearless display of handicapping prowess, many of the best and brightest of Horse Racing Nation have decided to lay their reputations on the line and try not only to pick the winner of the 2012 Kentucky Derby, but also nail down the entire superfecta of one of the most difficult races to handicap since the first Saturday of last May. Surely the old axiom, 18 heads are better than one, is in play here, so the consensus selections should offer some solid information for anyone with the willingness to listen. Before the race even begins, I believe these selections will answer the question which horse will be favored, as somewhat surprisingly nearly half of the group tabbed Union Rags as their overall top pick, while not a single voter went for Bodemeister in that spot. Without further ado, here is how Horse Racing Nation sees the Kentucky Derby …

… Leaving us with the consensus Top 5 of:

1. Union Rags

2. Gemologist

3. Dullahan

4. Creative Cause

5. Daddy Nose Best

Did we collectively get it right? Tell us what your Top 5 is.

Creative Cause, El Padrino, Alpha, Take Charge Indy, Bodemeister
Nobody is picking Bodemeister? In that case, I will. I think he's either going to win or run off the board. Bodemeister, Union Rags, Gemologist, Alpha, Daddy Nose Best
Mix, you like Creative Cause, Hansen and Take Charge Indy?
Творческая Причина, Хансен, Возьми на себя ответственность Indy:*

CC, IHA, Gem, Alpha, DNB. Slight change from yesterday.
El Padrino, Take Charge Indy, Gemologist, Creative Cause, Prospective Take it to the bank....
Rags and Cause will pass the speed at the top of thd stretch. Dullahan and Nose will sweep by them 1/16 out. Dullahan by a half-length.
Dullahan, Daddy Nose Best, Union Rags, Creative Cause. None of the speed will hit the board.
I think Union Rags is an Uncle Mo or Looking at Lucky. I look for Rags to win the Preakness.
Gemologist, Daddy Nose Best, Take Charge Indy, Creative Cause, Alpha
Dullahan; Union Rags; Take Charge Indy; and a couple of bombs: El Padrino; and Prospective.
Well I gotta pick gemologist, bodemeister, and hansen
Creative Cause, Union Rags, Alpha, Gemologist. Good luck everyone!
Bodemeister, gemologist, daddy nose, take charge, union rags.
