Hansen's Summer Plans Include Travers

Dr. Kendall Hansen, majority owner of 2011 2-year-old champion Hansen, winner of the Grey Goose Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I), said the son of Tapit will target the $1 million Travers Stakes (gr. I) Aug. 25, with prep races scheduled in either the Iowa Derby (gr. III) at Prairie Meadows or Red Legend Stakes at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town and then the West Virginia Derby (gr. III) at Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort. Dr. Hansen said the Iowa Derby is the more likely of the two races.

Hansen, who captured the Gotham Stakes (gr. III) and was second in the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I) this year, hasn't run since finishing ninth in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).

The flamboyant and innovative Dr. Hansen said he has kept a low-profile recently and will let Hansen do most of the talking the rest of the year, as he attempts to get back into the 3-year-old Eclipse picture. But he will remain the colt's number one spokesman.

What the Nation is saying about Hansen's Summer Plans Include Travers...

That'd be interesting.
Hansen is a beautiful horse, but he is no big contender for any major races run over 9f. I do, however, want to see him try the turf.
I get amused, over how all the know-it-alls have said he "blossomed early, hasn't mature, etc.". Bottom line is, one race(Ky Derby) he was washed out. Maybe he was overwhelmed by the crowd? I'd still take a shot at him. If I do so, I hope all of you prognosticators bet against him, so that it will fatten up my payoffs. Be sure to get to the window!!!!!!!!!!
as for being only a gr2-3 horse, huh? out of 7 races has 1 gr 1 win, 1 gr 1 place at two turns; union rags has 1 gr 1 win, 1 gr 1 place, and 1 gr 1 show at two turns turns out of 8 races, guess rags is a gr 2-3 horse too...
hansen has the best two turn record of all dirt 3 yos still racing, only IHA has better two turn record
timsmith, you may be right, only time will tell
Im just a realist ..Hansen was an early bloomer and many have passed him now.. Hes a G2-3 runner IMO
But he is still my favorite 3 year old
I don't think he can run at his full potential until he matures emotionally
Will support him wherever he goes. I have not given up on him and he is my favorite whatever. Tim Smith, I so hope you are not correct and he returns to great form.
Junebug, MarlanaWalters = notobsessed, sometimes I don't notice I get logged in on facebook
Really, Junebug? I will only go if Hansen enters, maybe we can meet up there!
I will be in Altoona, also! Can't wait to see Hansen in person!
Works for me. He should take some money but I'm not betting him. If he were my horse I'd keep him around 1 turn for now.
7F-- Trinniberg.. 8F Posse ,Shack 9 F Bode,RagsRTG etc..10F Same as 9 Where does Hanson win> Im saying G2-3 at best Its time the connections realize the DREAM is over with this guy and reset their goals.
This one may have exposed as distance limited....A precocious baby whos maturity was just ahead of the others and the others caught up
I'm praying that he goes to Prairie Meadows, only a 4 hour drive and I am making plans to go!
