HRRN to Cover LA Derby, World Cup

Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY, announced today it will return to Fair Grounds to broadcast Saturday?s $1 million Louisiana Derby for the fifth consecutive year.  As part of their seven hours of racing coverage on Louisiana Derby day, HRRN will host a special internet exclusive broadcast of the Dubai World Cup which will be presented by AmWest Entertainment.

HRRN?s 3-hour broadcast of the Dubai World Cup will air live from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. EDT and be available worldwide on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net.   The Dubai World Cup  will precede HRRN?s coverage of the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby which can be heard from 4-6 ET on HRRN affiliates and streamed live on the HRRN site.

?The Dubai World Cup is truly a global event attracting top horses from around the world each year? said HRRN President, Mike Penna.  ?To combine our coverage with one of the more prestigious Derby preps, the Louisiana Derby, allows us to provide racing fans with a very special day.   Listeners in 44 countries visited our site to hear our Dubai World Cup and Louisiana Derby broadcasts last year, and we are extremely excited to showcase these great events to the world again in 2011.?

?Our AmWest team is once again privileged to partner with HRRN to bring the spectacular Dubai World Cup racing experience to a wide international audience via HRRN?s popular broadcast. Thoroughbred racing?s top fields assembled each year by the Dubai Racing Club represent the pinnacle of international competition and AmWest is proud to offer this unique racing and wagering experience throughout North and South America? said AmWest CEO Nelson Clemmens.

The Dubai World Cup broadcast will also include live coverage of several stakes on the World Cup undercard, while HRRN?s coverage of the Louisiana Derby will include the Grade 2 New Orleans Handicap and Grade 2 Mervin Muniz Jr. Handicap, and bonus coverage of the Grade 3 Vinery Spiral Stakes from Turfway Park.

Mike Penna will anchor the HRRN coverage along with analyst Jude Feld.
