Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse
Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY, announced Tuesday
they will launch 16 hours of live on-site Kentucky Derby coverage from Churchill
Downs beginning Wednesday with the return of the network's popular Derby
Countdown show, all leading up to HRRN's exclusive national broadcast of the
138th Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 5th.
For
the fourth consecutive year, HRRN will host their Derby Countdown Show live from
the backside media area Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning from 8-10 a.m.
ET. The Derby Countdown
features interviews with jockeys, trainers, owners and Derby personalities, as
well as up to the minute workout reports and top stories surrounding Derby
138. On Wednesday evening, HRRN
will provide live coverage of the Kentucky Derby post position draw beginning at
5:00 p.m. ET.
The
network's live race coverage begins Friday afternoon with an exclusive three
hour broadcast of the 138th Kentucky Oaks from 3-6 p.m. ET. On Derby day, HRRN will host its weekly
Equine Forum Show from 8-10 a.m. ET and provide live coverage of the Derby day
undercard stakes from 2-4 ET preceding its broadcast of Kentucky Derby 138 from
5-7 p.m. ET.
HRRN's coverage will be available on nationwide
affiliates as well as on Sirius 93/XM 209.
Fans can also tune in worldwide with live streaming provided on the HRRN
website, www.horseracingradio.net. In addition, HRRN's Kentucky Derby
coverage will be broadcast to service men and women around the globe on the
American Forces Network.
HRRN's award-winning broadcast team will be anchored by
HRRN President, Mike Penna, along with analysts Jude Feld and Kurt Becker, with
paddock interviews and commentary provided by Sean Clancy. Lee Dellapina and Michelle Penna will
produce.
