Gulfstream is on the tube! Beginning January 20, replays of Gulfstream Park racing along with special interviews and features will be available via an official You Tube page at http://www.youtube.com/gulfstreamparkracing.

The channel will be updated daily with race replays and interviews, features and packages produced by Gulfstream Park’s newly created Media Development Department.

“There’s world-wide interest in Gulfstream Park, and this extension via YouTube speaks to that audience,” said Caton Bredar, Executive Producer of the new department. “By utilizing the talents of the Media Development staff, we hope to entertain casual fans and, at the same time, offer more serious followers of racing the critical, and practical handicapping information and resources they want and need.”

In addition to the new YouTube channel, racing fans who visit Gulfstream Park on-track now have access to a wide array of information to supplement their handicapping. The daily on-track program – ‘The GP Handicapper’ - offers an array of new features including:

  • Pedigree Insights by Toby Callet – Embedded into the past performances of 3-year-old maiden and allowance races, Callet’s analysis of the pedigree for each horse includes  insight into the dam’s success as a broodmare, sire tendencies and overall family quality.
  • Money Management  – Picking the winner is only half the battle. On weekends and special events, Toby Callet and other experts will provide a unique perspective on how not only to handicap a race, but how to wager on it, with the goal of maximizing the bankroll.
  • Best Bet and Longshot Plays of the Day – In addition to offering an in-depth analysis and top picks on a race by race basis, handicapper Michael Costanzo is providing patrons with a ‘Best Bet’ and ‘Longshot Play of the Day’ denoted by new icons within the past performances of the race.
  • Horses to Watch – Gulfstream Park Track Announcer Larry Collmus uses his binoculars to help identify ‘Horses to Watch’, denoted by a special icon within the past performances followed by a brief summary.

Gulfstream Park’s 2010 meet runs through Saturday, April 24.
