You are right ajump08. We do people always have to compare and bash other horses to make a case for their favorites? Goldikova, Zenyatta, Rachel Alexandra, etc. They all had great careers and Goldikova is still going strong!
ajmindiola, that's not a fair way to compare the two. Goldikova race at 3, Zenyatta did not. Goldikova has had the majority of her races against boys, Zenyatta did not. Goldikova shipped to countries to seek out and beat the best, Zenyatta did not. I personally love both, and why try to decide who's better? Their style, distance, and connections vary in so much a clear choice really can't be made.
Zenyatta lost 1 race by a nose in 19 starts..how many times was your Goldikova beaten!!!
she is well deserving of such a rating - she is a superstar bar none.

Speaking of Buena Vista, she is supposed to go in the 2011 Dubai World Cup.
Some of you must live to be able to slam Zenyatta again, the vehemence shown here against her is ridiculous. She didn't pick where she ran, people. Her connections did. Let's find another topic. And Buena Vista should be ranked higher than Goldikova. Goldikova ducked the QE2 twice, and ran against weaker in the US instead of going to the championships in Hong Kong. And Paco Boy had to give her weight in every race they ran. Buena Vista over Goldikova..
To all the upset Zenyatta fans who've read this post, theres a reason its called WORLD rankings. Goldikova has been ll over Europe, and America its rediculous to beleive any other is better.
Her turn of foot in the BC was dazzling. I bet against her lol . To dispense Gio that easily was somthing to watch

Soon there wiil be no classic distances left. Hell graded stake after graded stake keep getting shortened to accomodate the speed to speed pedigree projections. In Europe the classic stayer race on the flats is the Ascot Gold Cup at 20 furlongs. The Sunset and the Jockey Club Gold Cup used to be 2 miles...If you do not provide a stage to test animals AT A DISTANCE at GRADED stakes level, you will never know where that tested stamina will come from.
