Downs Mile, but when Gayego took the lead at the top of the stretch,
the 5-year-old turned on the burners to the finish line.
When Successful Dan made a final push, Gayego, the 6-5 favorite ridden
by Alan Garcia, shifted into another gear to win the $245,825 Mile by
two lengths in a track-record time of 1 minute, 34.9 seconds.
