Frankel Thumps Rivals in Ascot's QE II

SUPERSTAR colt Frankel stretched his unbeaten record to nine with another convincing thumping of his rivals.

The Henry Cecil-trained three-year-old was sent off the 4-11 favourite despite four Group 1 winners being among the seven taking him on - and they proved to be no match for him as he moved clear of them in the closing stages of the race to win by four lengths.

Excelebration, who had won both of his races since finishing third behind Frankel in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot filled second spot at 6-1, with another three and a half lengths back to Immortal Verse who finished third at 7-1.

I haven't heard officially one way or the other if Henry Cecil and Prince Khalid Abdullah intend to make the trek to Churchill Downs with Frankel in 3 weeks time for the BC Mile or not? But regardless whether Frankel shows up for the race or not? He's left little doubt that he's the best turf miler in the world by a street this year. If he does show up for the BC Mile? My advise to everyone is to lump on big. Because with no disrespect intended to Goldikova or Freddie Head, Frankel could likely stop halfway through the race to take a p-ss, and still beat Goldikova with a fare bit in hand. TJMO.
Frankel and Immortal Verse sadly won't be coming over for the BC Mile.
A Rolling Stones song springs to mind: BEAST OF BURDEN!! Christ on the cross, how good is this horse at a mile on turf?? Excelebration was just much the best in winning the G1 Prix Du Moulin at Longchamp, and has been one of the fastest improving turf milers in Europe this season. Immortal Verse beat not only beat the best 3yr.old fillies in Europe in the G1 Coronation Stakes at Ascot, but also handled Goldikova in the G1 Prix Jacques Le Marois with a good bit in hand. Frankel made both Excelebration and Immortal Verse, outstanding horses in their right, look absolutely ordinary in the Q.E.II Stakes today!! If Frankel comes to Churchill Downs for the BC Mile now? Goldikova's reign as BC Mile champion ends that very day. Period. This horse is a total beast at a mile on turf, and not even the queen mare herself can deal with the kind of explosive turn of foot this colt has!! JMO.
