Gulfstream Park proudly announced today Fasig-Tipton, North American’s oldest Thoroughbred auction firm, will sponsor the Feb. 26 $400,000 Fountain of Youth (G2).

The Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth is a major 3-year-old prep on the road to the March 31 Florida Derby (G1) and May 5 Kentucky Derby (G1). The Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth is also a month before the world-renowned Fasig-Tipton Florida Sale for selected 2-year-olds, which will be held March 26 for the second consecutive year at Palm Meadows, Gulfstream’s world-class training facility in Palm Beach County. The breeze show will be conducted at Palm Meadows on March 23.

The Fasig-Tipton Florida sale is a market leader and attracts the sport’s top horsemen from around the world. For many years the sale has generated the highest gross revenue and average price among the major select sales of 2-year-olds in training. More stakes-winning graduates have been sold at this auction than any other currently-operating 2-year-olds in training sale.

“It’s our privilege to work with such a respected and historic industry leader in Fasig-Tipton,” said Gulfstream Park President Timothy Ritvo. “It’s fitting that a major race in the road to the Florida Derby and Kentucky Derby has a world-class sponsor.”

Boyd Browning, president of Fasig-Tipton, added, “We are delighted to continue our sponsorship of the Fountain of Youth and to hold our sale once again at one of the finest training facilities in the world in Palm Meadows.”

The Fasig-Tipon Fountain of Youth, contested at 1 1/16th mile, has a storied history. Those who have won the Fountain of Youth and the Kentucky Derby include Fasig-Tipton sales graduates Kauai King, Unbridled and Go For Gin as well as Spectacular Bid, Thunder Gulch, Tim Tam, Pleasant Colony, Swale and Iron Liege.
