Farmer's Market at Belmont Park to Open Saturday

Beginning Saturday, 16 local purveyors of certified organic vegetables and greens, poultry, eggs, bakery items, pickles, and fresh fish and shellfish will be offering their goods at a new weekly Farmer’s Market at Belmont Park.

 

Located in the east end of the grandstand on the ground floor, the Belmont Farmer’s Market will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday except Belmont Stakes Day, June 8, through July 13. When racing returns to Belmont Park in September at the conclusion of the summer meet at Saratoga Race Course, the Farmer’s Market will be open on Saturdays and Sunday through October.

 

Among the regional vendors are Finks Country Farm of Manorville (fruits and vegetables), Carucci Greenhouses of Mattituck (spring plants, corn, tomatoes), Hormans Best Pickles of Glen Cove, PDR Seafood of Blue Point, Blue Duck Bakery of Southold, Millport Dairy of Lancaster, Pa., and Monty’s Bread of Bensonhurst.

 

Also participating will be Three Castles Gardens (herbs, vegetables, salad greens), Beth’s Farm Kitchen (fruit preserves and chutneys), Nature’s Way Honey, Kalypso Yogurt, Chef Deb (gluten-free goods), Sea Gal Bakery (fresh fruit tarts), Sassy Candles, Spinella’s Sauces, and The Three Nuts (natural nut butters).

 

The Farmer’s Market accepts SNAP/EBT benefits, Debit & Credit Cards, WIC and Senior Checks from the NY State Famer’s Market Nutrition Programs.
