FOY Noms Close Feb 6th

Nominations to the $250,000 Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) for 3-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles to be run on Sat., Feb. 20 close on Saturday (Feb. 6) as well as three other stakes events to be run that afternoon.

Also closing are renewals of the $150,000 Hutcheson Stakes (G2) for 3-year-olds at seven furlongs, $150,000 Canadian Turf Stakes (G3) for 4-year-olds and up at one mile on turf and $100,000 Honey Fox Stakes (G3) for fillies and mares at one mile on turf.

With more than two weeks to go before the 64th edition of the Fountain of Youth, the probable/possible field currently includes Kingfield Stable’s Buddy’s Saint, Robert LaPenta and Jacks or Better Farm’s Jackson Bend, Zayat Stable’s Eskendereya, Dogwood Stable’s Aikenite, WinStar Farm’s Drosselmeyer and Flying Zee Stable’s Pulsion.

 

Edward P. Evans’ Quality Road won the Fountain of Youth last year ahead of his victory in the Florida Derby (G1) over Dunkirk.
