Two executives have resigned their positions at MTR Gaming Group,
which owns and operates Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in
West Virginia and Presque Isle Downs in Pennsylvania.
MTR Gaming Group announced Sept. 29 that president and chief
executive officer Robert Griffin resigned to “pursue another
professional opportunity.” On Sept. 30, the company said chief
financial officer David Hughes tendered his resignation based on
Griffin’s resignation but would assist with a 90-day transition.
MTR Gaming Group chairman of the board Steven Billick will take over from Griffin until a new CEO is hired, the company said.
“We thank Bob for his commitment to MTR Gaming over the past several
years and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” Billick said
in a statement. “We have commenced our search for a permanent
replacement and look forward to sharing news on this front as soon as
possible.”
