Easy Gallop for Shackleford

Travers candidate Shackleford galloped an easy 1 ½ miles on the Saratoga main track Wednesday morning, continuing his preparation for the “Midsummer Derby” on August 27 for trainer Dale Romans.

After cooling out, Shackleford took several happy rolls in the dirt pit outside Romans’ barn.

“I took him to the paddock and galloped him a good mile and half,” said jockey Jesus Castanon. “He’s ready.”
