Devil May Care had a good morning following her victory in Saturday’s Grade 1 Mother Goose, trainer Todd Pletcher reported.

“She came out of the race in excellent shape,” said Pletcher, who has the Grade 1 Betfair TVG Coaching Club American Oaks at Saratoga Race Course on Saturday, July 24, scheduled for her next start, to be followed by the Grade 1 Betfair TVG Alabama on Saturday, August 21.

The daughter of Malibu Moon extended her record to four victories from seven starts in the Mother Goose, with both Grade 1 wins coming at Belmont Park, the other being last October’s Frizette.

Pletcher, who turned 43 Saturday, celebrated his birthday at home after the races and had a typically busy Sunday morning. Among the “Todd Squad” members working were Quality Road, who went a half-mile in 50.76, galloping out in 1:03.20, as he prepares for his next start in the Grade 1 Whitney at Saratoga Race Course on August 7.

“He went well,” said the trainer.

Also working were Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver  [5F, 1:01.82], Le Grand Cru [4F, 48.44], Take the Points [4F, inner turf, 47.15], and Munnings and Hunters Bay, who went five furlongs together in 1:00.09, galloping out in  1:12.10.
