Older Comments about 2011 Kentucky Derby contenders - Top Beyer Figures ...

I try to stay away from paying to much attention to Beyer speed figures when talking three year olds, there's always so much improvement from race to race to throw out a horse because of a low Beyer.
I know this that the top 20 contenders for the derby now will not all be there on derby day, there will be some surprises
yeah uncle mo has the top byer and didn't run yet. going to be crazy when he actually gets tested.
It is alittle too soon to make a proper assessment of the Derby prospects. As a former owner, there are too many issues to deal with. Remember, you are dealing with a fragile thoroughbred, and the fiirst saturday in May is a long time away. We need a little more time. I have to say at the moment, Uncle Mo is looking pretty good. time will tell. Remember, you always have the late bloomer.
As far as stakes go, it's scary that only Mucho Macho Man has come within 8 points of To Honor and Serve and Uncle Mo. Until proven otherwise, those two are in a class by themselves.
