Daddy Long Legs Takes UAE Derby

AIDEN O'BRIEN landed a first blow on Dubai World Cup night when Daddy Long Legs surged home in the UAE Derby to provide the trainer witha first winner at Meydan.

O'Brien was only denied a one-two in the contest when Yang Tse Kiang denied Wrote on the run for home.

It was Godolphin's Helmet, drawn wide in stall 14, who set the pace to the race.

McEvoy made every effort to get across to the rail at the head of the field and didn't ease off once he got there.
