Breeders' Cup 2013 logo.
In honor of the 30th running of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, NBC Sports Network will televise on Saturday “Daily Racing Form Presents Breeders’ Cup 30-1: Greatest Moments in Breeders’ Cup History.” The one hour telecast (5:30-6:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. PT) captures the indelible accomplishments of the horses and individuals who graced the Breeders’ Cup with the greatest drama and excitement since the event’s inception in 1984.

Produced by Breeders’ Cup, The Hennegan Brothers and NBC Sports, “30-1” brings to life a dramatic countdown of the top 30 moments in Breeders’ Cup history, reliving the magnificent performances from the likes of Alysheba in the “Midnight Classic”, Sunday Silence battling Easy Goer, Cigar’s great campaigns in the 1990’s, the “Three-Peat” of Goldikova and the dramatic Classic runs of the incomparable racemare Zenyatta.

“Daily Racing Form Presents Breeders’ Cup 30-1” is hosted by Laffit Pincay III, with reflections from the biggest names in the sport, including D. Wayne Lukas, Bob Baffert,  Pat Day, Chris McCarron and Mike Smith, as well  as commentary from Breeders’ Cup Ambassadors Bobby Flay, Bo Derek, Elizabeth Banks, Laura Bell Bundy and Jim Rome.

“It’s extremely hard to boil so many great memories into just 30 moments, but we think new fans and veterans observers are going to enjoy and debate which moments belong at the top of their Breeders’ Cup lists in this riveting hour of fantastic finishes and the recollections of the people who rode and trained these amazing horses,” said Peter Rotondo, Breeders’ Cup Vice President of Media and Entertainment. “We’re so proud of the work by John and Brad Hennegan and our partners at NBC Sports, and thank our presenting sponsor Daily Racing Form for collaborating on this program.”

NBCSN will also show encore telecasts of “30-1” on Thursday, October 31 from 10:30-11:30 p.m./7:30-8:30 PT and again from 1:00 a.m.-2:00 a.m. ET/10-11 p.m. PT.

“Daily Racing Form Presents Breeders’ Cup 30-1: Greatest Moments in Breeders’ Cup History” will also be available to the public on DVD for purchase at breederscupshop.com starting on October 19.

The NBC Sports Group will televise live the 30th Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Friday, November 1 (NBCSN, 4-8 p.m. ET) and on Saturday, November 2 (NBCSN, 3:30-8 p.m. ET) and on NBC from 8-9 p.m. ET with the live broadcast of the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic.
