Concord Point, a multiple graded stakes winner and track-record
setter, has been retired and will stand the 2011 season at Hill ‘n’
Dale Farms in Lexington for an advertised fee of $7,500.
A three-year-old Tapit colt out of Harve de Grace, by Boston Harbor,
Concord Point posted four wins and one second from six career starts
and earned $669,260 in two seasons. He won the West Virginia Derby (G2)
by a length on August 7 and set a track record for 1 1/16 miles at
Prairie Meadows Racetrack when winning the Iowa Derby by 8½ lengths,
covering the distance in 1:40.37.
“We are extremely excited to introduce Concord Point to our stallion
roster,” Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms President John G. Sikura said. “He’s an
exceptionally good-looking horse by one of the hottest sires on the
scene today who was as brilliant as any horse we’ve brought to the
farm. Kaleem Shah and Bob Baffert did a wonderful job with this horse.
He was on track for winning a Grade 1 before being sidelined.”
