Colonel John, winner of the Santa Anita Derby (gr. I) and Travers (gr. I), has several foals on the ground from his introductory crop at stud.
“We've heard from several breeders
already that have had babies, and they are all excited about their
Colonel John foals,” said Robert Hammond, director of stallion seasons
& bloodstock at WinStar. “The ones we have here at WinStar are
showing a lot of the qualities of the stallion himself, which is what
you want to see. Two thumbs up.”
Mares from Colonel John's first book
of 135 include several grade I winners and/or producers, including Well
Dressed, dam of Well Armed, who is expected to foal in mid-March at
WinStar.
