Celebrate Your Birthday at Santa Anita Park

Santa Anita CEO Mark Verge has declared Santa Anita a Happy Birthday Zone as The Great Race Place will grant free birthday admission to those with proof of their date of birth and a guest, effective immediately.

“Santa Anita Park has been voted the number one place in Southern California to celebrate your birthday,” said Verge.  “We want people to know they can have a great time here, on any day.  We’ve got great racing, football, baseball, family fun activities, concerts, contests and we’re hoping to get the word out and let people know they can blow out a few candles and party with us anytime.”

Santa Anita’s 2012 Autumn Meet will run through Nov. 4.  The only exceptions to the Happy Birthday promotion will be the two-day Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Nov. 2 and 3.

Santa Anita will be open Monday for a special Columbus Day card, consisting of 10 races.  Two $100,000 stakes, the Zuma Beach for 2-year-olds and the Surfer Girl for 2-year-old fillies, will highlight the program.

Columbus Day will also feature one dollar beers, sodas and hot dogs.

Santa Anita will present the 23rd running of the California Cup on Saturday, Oct. 13.  All on-track attendees will receive a beautiful collector’s item Doug O’Neill Bobblehead, in recognition of the popular trainer of leading Horse of the Year candidate, I’ll Have Another.

Fans can also enjoy a free concert following the races on Cal Cup Day, as the popular band, Pepper, will perform live as a part of Santa Anita’s second Party in the Paddock at Sirona’s Grill on the Grandstand main floor.

Following Columbus Day, Santa Anita will run on a Thursday through Sunday schedule for the remainder of the meet, with first post time at 1 p.m., excepting Nov. 2 & 3.
